CROCODILE LEATHER
Designer Aoki
"Go to the factory and cut it yourself"
For me, crocodile leather is very special among the many leathers. Perhaps it is because it is rare and difficult to handle that I am so careful about it. For example, even when it comes to cutting, I go to the factory myself to cut it. Crocodile leather is often only used from the center part of the leather, which is beautifully trimmed, but at Icchi, I, as a designer, actually hold the leather in my hands and think about how to use it without leaving any part behind.
Designer Aoki
"Make crocodiles more accessible and casual."
We capture the distinct expressions of crocodile leather while imagining the expression that matches each item. This also makes it possible to enjoy products other than wallets, such as bags and belts, in the same series. Many people may have an impression that crocodiles are originally eccentric, but we want to make them "more familiar and more casual." With that thought in mind, we are working on the crocodile series.
