King of Leather
King of Leather
Among the many types of natural leather, exotic leather is known as a high-quality material. Among them, crocodile leather is called the "diamond of leather" or the "king of leather" for its beauty, strength, and rarity, and is used in many luxury products as the finest leather.
World standard quality
Global standard quality
The crocodile series, which is fast becoming the face of ITTI, uses materials provided by a Japanese reptile tannery with over 50 years of history, in partnership with the prestigious French company Hcp (Hermes Cuir Leslieu).
There are 20 reptile tanneries affiliated with HCP in the world, six of which are in Japan. Japan's reptile tanning technology is considered to be at a fairly high level even by global standards.
HCP is a company established by Hermes with the aim of securing the world's finest raw materials.
Hermes originally acquired CCP, a world-leading French tannery known for supplying high-quality exotic leathers since 1923.
In 1994, CCP was reborn as "Hcp" in order to combine the know-how it had cultivated over the years with Hermes' technology and knowledge to produce the highest quality raw materials.
Highly specialized knowledge and skills
High level of expertise and technology
Currently, HCP owns four tanneries specializing in exotic leathers: Compagnie des Cuirs Précieux (Paris), Louisiane (Milan) and Reptile Tannery of Louisiana (Lafayette).
Exotic leathers produced with advanced expertise and techniques are supplied not only to Hermes, but also to other leading luxury brands and selected high-end craftsmen around the world.
Our commitment
A rich and expressive "flesh" pattern
ITTI uses the belly part, which has a soft texture. The square pattern that is characteristic of crocodile leather is called "Fu" (spots), the large rectangles lined up from the center of the belly are called "Takefu" (bamboo spots) because they look like bamboo nodes, and the small round shapes on the outside are called "Tamafu" (pearl spots).
Designer cuts by himself
At ITTI, we deliberately avoid the extravagant practice of cutting the fabric down the middle like high-end brands, and instead cut the fabric from end to end in order to allow you to feel the overall atmosphere and feel of the crocodile skin. The designers themselves cut the fabric, imagining the look that will best suit each item.
"More familiar, more casual"
Many people may have an impression that crocodiles are strange, but we want to make them more familiar and more casual. With that thought in mind, we have created the Crocodile series.
BLACK
CROCO
A classic color for crocodile leather. The black dyed with a focus on concentration has a deep hue that seems to absorb light. By applying a specially formulated wax and polishing with an exquisite strength using a soft cloth called a buff, the gloss is suppressed and the leather is finished with an elegant, calm, moist and soft texture. It also has high light fastness, which refers to the resistance of the color to the effects of light, and the more you use it, the more glossy and deep the leather becomes, allowing you to enjoy the aging process.
INDIGO
AI CROCO
Indigo-dyed crocodile leather with beautifully textured spots. Each piece is hand-dyed using indigo from Tokushima Prefecture, renowned for its highest quality. The indigo color gives an intellectual impression, and the more you use it, the more glossy it becomes, and the difference in the aging of each uneven surface gives the color depth.
L.INDIGO
NUBUCK AI CROCO
By giving "AI CROCO" a nubuck finish, the crocodile leather has the look of denim that has been bleached until it is pure white. The uneven surface contrast adds depth and flavor. With each use, the nap on the silver surface will flatten and the luster will increase, making this a one-of-a-kind crocodile leather that you can enjoy changing over time.
NUME
NUME CROCO
The crocodile leather is re-tanned with tannins to create a texture similar to vegetable tanned leather. The more you use it, the more it changes from a natural pale color to a glossy brown, and the difference in the aging of each bump gives the color depth.
WHITE / GRAY
HIMALAYA
"HIMALAYA" is known as a rare and expensive leather among crocodile leathers. The number of pieces that can be provided per season is extremely small compared to other colors, and this leather is not dyed at all. It is an undyed leather that is finished only by special processes such as bleaching and buffing, leaving the natural color of the crocodile leather. The belly part is white, and it is characterized by a gradation that resembles the Himalayan mountains, but there are also individuals that do not turn white, which makes this leather rare. Some items made from this leather can be traded for tens of millions of yen. In addition to its rarity, please enjoy the top-class, elegant atmosphere that only this leather can produce.
BLACK
BRIDLE CROCO
This crocodile leather is finished with a wax finish, with each piece carefully painted with a brush over and over again, based on the motif of bridle leather. The base is made of porosus crocodile, which is a rare and high-quality type of crocodile. Due to the uneven surface, the speed at which the wax penetrates and the luster appears varies from part to part, so you can enjoy a deeper, more three-dimensional look over time than with regular crocodile leather. Also, like bridle leather, the durability and water resistance improve as the wax penetrates. It is a premium material that not only looks great, but also improves in function with use.
