Snake leather and crocodile leather are exotic leathers with unique patterns and luster.
It has long been loved as a material that adds a striking accent to fashion items.
These leathers are both supple and durable, but proper care is essential to maintain their beauty for years to come.
Reptile leather is often thought to be difficult to work with, but it's not that hard if you know the basics.
Here we will introduce the correct three-step method for caring for snakeskin and crocodile leather products.
This is a product that can be used with confidence by anyone considering purchasing exotic leather items.
Step 1 Clean | Remove dust

The first thing to do is to remove any dust or dirt from the surface.
Gently brush off any dust from the surface with a soft brush such as the Collonil 1909 Fine Polishing Brush or Collonil 1909 Application Brush.
The scales of snakes and crocodiles are very delicate, so brush in the direction of the scales without applying too much pressure.
Brushing removes dirt before using sprays or creams, making it easier for the care ingredients to penetrate evenly.
💡Points
- Be careful not to move it in a direction that will cause the scales to stand on end.
- You can prevent unevenness by always brushing your hair before using care products such as sprays.
Step 2 Moisturize | Moisturize and protect

Next, we use Collonil Exotic Spray to protect the leather surface and give it a natural shine.
Shake the spray can well, hold the nozzle horizontally about 20cm away, and spray twice for approximately 4 seconds over an area of 30cm square until the surface is lightly moistened.
It provides waterproofing and makes the leather less susceptible to dirt and stains, preserving its beautiful texture.
💡Points
- Spraying too much in the same spot can cause dripping.
- Move the can around to spray evenly.
- Let it dry for about 10 minutes before proceeding to the next step.
Step 3 Polish | Add shine and finish

Once the spray has completely dried, finish with a Collonil Polishing Cloth or Collonil 1909 Fine Polishing Brush.

By gently brushing or wiping dry in the direction of the scales, the leather surface will develop a natural luster and a more moist texture.
💡Points
- The trick to keeping it looking beautiful is to finish with a soft touch and not scrub too hard.
- With regular care, the leather's appearance will become even more profound.
